Official app to measure Internet speed soon available in Romania
An official application that measures the speed of data connections provided by communications operators in Romania will be available to Internet users from the second half of the year, according to officials of the communication authority ANCOM, quoted by local Ziarul Financiar.
ANCOM will have further consultations with communications operators on the subject. The exact launch date will be determined at the end of these discussions.
About 5.9 million Romanian use the Internet every day, or 61.5 percent of the total Internet users in the country and the number is continuously growing, according to the most recent Internet Audience and Traffic Study (SATI) performed by the Romanian Transmedia Audit Bureau (BRAT). The figure covers the period December 1 2013 – February 28 2014.
