Omniasig records gross written premiums of over RON 1 bln in Romania
Insurance company Omniasig, controlled by the Austrian group Vienna Insurance Group (VIG), recorded an advance of 10.9% in its gross written premiums last year, up to RON 1.08 billion (EUR 241 million).
The company succeeded in maintaining its solvency indicators in accordance with the Solvency II regulations, according to the insurer.
Omniasig managed to climb up to the second position among local insurers in 2016, with a market share of 14.04%, according to the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF). The company ranked first for the total volume of paid damages. The insurer paid total damages of RON 566.4 million (EUR 125.2 million) in 2016, up 5% over the previous year.
Its pre-tax profit amounted to RON 20.68 million (EUR 4.5 million). On the car insurance sector, both for mandatory and optional insurances, the company saw gross written premiums of RON 740.1 million (EUR 163.6 million).
