Insurer Omniasig VIG underwrote insurance premiums of RON 881.1 million (EUR 199 million) in 2013, down 14.2 percent year-on-year, due to lower revenues from RCA and CASCO car insurance policies.

“Omniasig VIG’s premiums reached a total value of RON 881.1 million in 2013, out of which RON 311.8 million on CASCO optional insurance and RON 189.3 million for the RCA mandatory insurance,” according to a statement of the insurer.

In 2012, the company’s premiums had a value of some RON 1 billion (EUR 224 million).

Last year, the insurer paid total compensation of RON 793.5 million (some EUR 180 million), down 23.2 percent against 2012, when it paid damages worth some RON 1 billion (EUR 224 million).
