Only one in five Romanian employees are highly specialized

Romania is only 62 out of 124 countries ranked by the share of high-skilled workers in their total workforce, according to The World Economic Forum’s Human Capital Report 2015.

The report provides data for 124 economies across a range of indicators, including the proportion of each country’s workforce with high-skilled roles, which are defined as managers, professionals and technicians. Only a fifth of Romania’s workforce (21.6%) is highly-skilled, which places Romania at the middle of this ranking.

Luxembourg has the highest rate of specialized employees, of almost 60%, followed by Singapore (54.7%), and Switzerland (51.3%).
