One gold and seven bronze medals for Romania at international marketing competition Markstrat

Romanian students returned with a gold medal and seven bronze from the international marketing competition Markstrat.

Romania's eight-student team competed against teams from UK, Germany, Poland, Finland, The Netherlands, France and Spain in the online marketing simulation competition held in Paisely, UK, at the University of the West of Scotland.

The gold medal went to Eduard Popescu, while Alexandra Murgu, Andreea Birsan, Izabela Tranca, Vlad Aurelian Popescu, Nicoleta Sava, Medeea Mavru and Miruna Ghimis got bronze medals.

They are all students at the Foreign Languages University or at the Business Administration Faculty. The team was led by professors Diana Ionita and Magdalena Platis-Iordache, who also got gold medals.

The competition consisted of marketing simulations, and tested not only English language proficiency and marketing vocabulary, but also marketing and management concepts, IT competencies, and team work, among others.

Last year, Romania landed three gold medals at this competition, two silver and three bronze ones. In previous years, team Romania returned home with at least one gold medal each year.
