Online retailer eMag to hire 200 people for new software development center in Romania
Romanian online retailer eMag will hire some 200 people in a new “eMag IT Research Software Development Center” to be located in Bucharest.
The investment program will start in July this year and is part of eMag’s regional expansion strategy, reports local Wall-street.ro. The new employees will build software applications and platforms for each of eMag’s regional markets.
The company previously announced it will invest some EUR 11.5 million this year, double on 2013. The retailer posted revenues of EUR 187 million last year, and hopes to achieve a 40 percent turnover growth this year, to at least EUR 262 million.
Romanian founder of online retailer eMAG.ro sells his remaining stake after record year.
