Orange and RCS&RDS secure highest download speeds in Romania

Telecom group Orange secured the highest average download speed of all mobile internet operators in Romania whereas RCS&RDS ranked first for average fixed internet download speed, in the first semester of the year, according to Romania’s telecom regulator ANCOM.

The results were provided by Netograf.ro, ANCOM’s app that tests and monitors Internet services’ quality.

Among mobile internet operators, Orange Romania provided average download speeds of 34.15 Mbps indoor and 52.81 Mbps outdoor, whereas Vodafone Romania offered 16.94 Mbps indoor and 27.80 Mbps outdoor. Telekom Romania Mobile Communications secured 9.62 Mbps indoor and 9.18 Mbps and RCS & RDS provided 2.71 Mbps indoor and 2.66 Mbps outdoor.

Among fixed internet providers, RCS & RDS offered an average download speed of 95.21 Mbps wired and 42.43 Mbps wireless, followed by Nextgen Communications, with 63.83 Mbps wired and 34.61 Mbps wireless. UPC Romania provided an average download speed of 49.52 Mbps wired and 28.62 Mbps wireless, and Telekom Romania had 29.34 Mbps wired and 15.36 Mbps wireless.
