Orange ends first quarter with growing revenues in Romania
French telecommunications group Orange ended the first quarter with revenues of EUR 221 million in Romania.
When excluding regulations’ impact, the company registered a growth of 6.4% year-on-year in Romania, after rising 4.5% in the fourth quarter of 2014.
Orange had 10.36 million clients in Romania at the end of March 2015.
The mobile Internet traffic doubled compared to the same period the previous year, due to higher sales of smartphones and tablets.
Orange is one of the 4G leaders in Romania, with a coverage of 65% of the population at March 31, according to the group’s report.
Recent data from Romania’s communications authority ANCOM’s showed that Orange has the highest speed for downloading data.
Orange TV had 190,000 subscribers at the end of March this year, up 21% quarter-on-quarter.
Orange’s main competitors on the local market are Vodafone, Telekom Romania, UPC and RCD & RDS.
