Orange Romania and Poland to swap CEOs

23 May 2023

Julien Ducarroz, the current CEO of Orange Poland, has been appointed to lead the company's operations in Romania starting September 1. In turn, he will be replaced by Orange Romania's current CEO Liudmila Climoc.

The move marks Ducarroz's return to Romania, where he worked between 2007-2016. He started his career at Orange Romania as Strategy Director, and since 2009 he has led the sales, marketing, digital and brand communication teams as Chief Commercial Officer. In 2016, he was appointed CEO of Orange Moldova, and since 2020 he has been CEO of Orange Poland.

During his 22-year career in the Orange Group, Julien Ducarroz gained experience in several European markets. He graduated from the Swiss Federal Polytechnic Institute in Zurich, being a native of Switzerland.

"Thanks to his passion and skills, Julien has made impactful changes at Orange Poland during his term. […] I thank him for leading the Orange Poland team with maximum energy during the pandemic and in the midst of a difficult macroeconomic and geo-political context generated by the war in Ukraine. I am convinced he will tackle any challenges in Romania just as well," said Mari-Noëlle Jégo-Laveissière, Executive Vice President, CEO of Orange in Europe (outside France).

"In the seven years of leadership, Liudmila and her team in Romania were the protagonists of several firsts, such as the launch of 5G services, showing creativity, enthusiasm and unlimited energy resources. More importantly, Liudmila led Orange Romania's transformation from a mobile operator to a converged one. She is a true leader, and I am confident in her ability to lead the company to sustainable growth and continue Julien's mission in Poland," she added.

Liudmila Climoc will take over, from September 1, 2023, the position of CEO of Orange Poland, which represents the third mandate as CEO in her career. With 25 years of experience in telecommunications, she became CEO of Orange Moldova in 2008, and in 2016 she took over the same position at Orange Romania.
