Orkla Foods grows sales by 7.5%
Norwegian Orkla Foods grew its sales in Romania by 7.5 percent last year on the previous, the company has announced without mentioning the actual sales figure. Despite a drop in consumption, the company says it has seen positive results. The company had to finalize a reorganization program started in 2007, which involved the relocation and concentration of production activities from the Bucharest and Covasna units, according to Manuela Banu, general manager of Orkla Foods Romania.
Orkla Foods produces Tomi and La Minut ketch-up, Wiesana, Linco, Unirea butter, mustard under the Bunatati de la Bunica and La Minute brands, canned food under the Ardealul brand. Orkla Group posted EUR 6.9 billion in revenues last year and a profit before tax of EUR 133 million.
