Otopeni airport installs two new screening lines
The Bucharest Airport Company (CNAB) has installed two new security check lines at the Otopeni Airport, in an attempt to streamline the passenger screening.
The company is also trying to monitor the screening process and direct the passengers to less crowded areas. The waiting time at the security check has thus been reduced to 15 minutes, according to the CNAB press release.
The Henri Coanda International Airport (Otopeni Airport), which serves Romania’s capital, ranked fourth in Europe in its traffic category for the growth in the number of passengers. The airport recorded an advance of 17% in the first eight months of the year, up to 7.1 million passengers. Last year, the airport saw some 100,000 landings and takeoffs.
The higher activity at the airport has created uncomfortable situations for the passengers, who sometimes had to wait more than an hour at the security check and passport control stops. The airport also increased the number of passport control booths in September.
