Over 0.1 mln tourism employees in Romania could lose jobs if flat tax up
A possible increase of the flat tax or a progressive tax would trigger, at least for tourism, either bankruptcy or widespread tax evasion, and 100,000 employees would become unemployed, according to Dragos Raducan, vice-president of the Romanian Tourism Employers Federation .
“An increase in the flat tax would send home 100,000 of the 160,000 employees in tourism. From taxpayers, they will turn into socially assisted people,” he said, cited by local Mediafax.
