Over 18 million Romanians expected to cast their votes for president this fall

Over 18 million Romanians are expected to vote during this year’s presidential elections to take place in November. They will elect Romania’s future President from a list of 14 candidates. All 14 applications were admitted by the Central Electoral Bureau BEC on September 24.

The first candidate on the ballot will be Kelemen Hunor, according to the draw conducted by BEC. The list will be completed, in order, by Klaus Iohannis, Dan Diaconescu, Victor Ponta, William Brinza, Elena Udrea, Mirel Mircea Amaritei, Teodor Melescanu, Gheorghe Funar, Szilagyi Zsolt, Monica Macovei, Constantin Rotaru, Calin Popescu Tariceanu and Corneliu Vadim Tudor, reports local Agerpres.

The electoral campaign starts Friday, October 3, and will end on November 1, 7:00. The first round of presidential elections is scheduled to take place on November 2, while the second round will be organized on November 16.

A total of 1,245 polling stations will be set up in Bucharest for the presidential elections.
