Over half of Romania’s households have access to Internet
More than half of Romania’s households had access to Internet directly from home last year. Almost 71% of them were concentrated in urban areas, according to the National Institute of Statistics.
From a regional perspective, the Bucharest-Ilfov region ranked first, with three out of four households connected to the Internet, reports local Agerpres. In the West and North-West regions, three out of five households had internet, whereas in the South-East and Centre regions, two out of four households were connected to internet.
The South-Muntenia and South-West Oltenia regions had the lowest shares of households with Internet connection, of 46.1%, respectively 47.1%.
