Leslie Hawke, known in Romania for her work with the Ovidiu Rom foundation, and to the world as the mother of Hollywood actor Ethan Hawke has married David Weiss, 61, a lawyer at Goulston & Storrs in Boston. Their recent marriage – on New Year's Eve – made it into the New York Times, which featured a story on the couple.

Leslie Hawke, who left the US 12 years ago to work with disadvantaged children in Romania, first met Weiss in the 60s, when he was a family friend of the then Hawke couple, but lost contact with him until last year, when they re-connected.

Leslie Hawke is the co-founder of Ovidiu Rom non-governmental organization, which aims at geting every poor child in Romania into the education system between age 3 and 6.
