(P) The music of Baroque and Renaissance plays once again in Bucharest

02 December 2013

With the occasion of the eight edition of the Bucharest Early Music Festival, the Romanian public will be enjoying the sounds of Baroque and Renaissance music. Between the 3rd and the 5th of December, at ArCuB in Bucharest, well-known artists like the Belgian Baroque music ensemble, Il Gardellino, violinist Melinda Béres, clavecinist Raluca Enea will be performing works by J. S. Bach, A. Vivaldi, G. Fr. Haendel or A. Corelli.

This year’s surprise is the contemporary influences brought by the Romanian jazz pianist and singer Harry Tavitian. The artist will delight the public in a jazz show with Byzantine and Armenian improvisations

The new additions don’t stop here as the organizers also included visual arts in those year’s program. Starting with the 2nd of December, the National Muzeum of the Romanian Peasant will host the painting and sculpture exhibition titled “Suspended Gardens” which brings together works by 12 contemporary artists like Mircea Roman, Elena Scutaru or Vasile Mureșan Murivale, to name a few.

Therefore, the Bucharest Early Music Festival 2013 is surely to become an event dedicated not only to the specialised public, but also to the ones that want to experience enriching cultural activities.
