Airfield Festival, the coolest summer festival will be taking place between the 30st of July and the 2nd of August 2015 on the Magura Aerodrome, 5 km away from Sibiu. It is the perfect mix of quality music, aviation activities, regular and extreme sports, fun and artistic activities. The passion for good music, flying and outdoor fun come together in the three key elements of the festival:

You Dance!

Airfield Festival brings you the most diverse musical mix of the year: hip-hop, electro, jazz, techno, funk, alternative, ska, balkan. 70 musical projects will unfold within 4 days, on 3 stages, 2 outdoor and one inside a real aviation hangar equiped with today’s most performant sound systems:  D&B Audiotechnik and Function One.

On the main stage there will be performances by Little Dragon, The Skatalites, Roy Hargrove Quintet, Gus Gus, Klingande + Arnold Sax, Jazzanova Live feat. Paul Randolph, Mo'Horizons, Nôze & Band, Moonlight Breakfast, Blomqvist, Fanfare Ciocârlia, Subcarpaţi, Omul cu Şobolani, Coma, E.M.I.L, Golan, Alexandrina, Panama Cardoon, Silent Strike & Dan Basu, Dj Sauce, Dj K-lu, Loungerie II, Clay Windham & Band.

The best hip-hop line-up of 2015 in Romania will be seen and heard at  Airfield Festival: Mobb Deep, KRS-One, R.A. The Rugged Man, The Four Owls + Molotov, The Doppelgangaz, DJ Woody, Decks’n Drums, Professor P & DJ Akilles, C.T.C., Haarp Cord, Unda Comună, Alan & Kepa, Flou Rege, raku, Carbon și Pietonu, are the artists who will blow your mind on the hip-hop stage.

The techno scene will also host top artists such as: Dixon, Âme, DJ Koze, Mano Le Tough, Nick Curly, M.A.N.D.Y., Recondite (Live), Mathias Kaden (Live), Ray Okpara, Andrey Pushkarev, Mihai Popoviciu, Izhevski & Gorje Hewek, Mano, Gully, Bog, Liquid, Adi Dumitra & Toygun, Ciprian Popa, Adub & Răzvan Mate, Others, Bozzo & Aton Pann.

You Fly!

There is nothing like flying! Come to Airfield and enjoy the festival from up in the sky. Cruise over the city of Sibiu for 20 minutes on board of a Cessna – 172 plane or a Bell – 206 Jet Ranger helicopter or experience the feeling of being lifted in a hot air baloon tied to the ground at 30 m above everyone. If you are into extreme sports and are over 18, try tandem skydiving from 3500 m, the safest way to enjoy free fall and parachuting.

Fees for aviation activities / per person:

• flying by plane – 150 RON with an Airfield subscription or 250 RON without one;
• flying by helicopter – 300 RON with an Airfield Subscription or 400 RON without one;
• skydiving – 890 RON with or without a festival subscription;
• lift by hot air balloon – 70 RON, festival subscription is mandatory.

You Play!

Airfield Festival is more than just good music. The 40 hectares of the Magura Aerodrome are the perfect scenery for 4 days full of sports, fun and artistic activities.

Discover the most beautiful mountain bike trails around Sibiu and join a guided biking tour or take part in rollerblade, skateboard, BMX and MTB competitions, or the amazing parkour shows. The BMX and MTB competitions will take place on a new setup composed of three kickers, so that there will be three consecutive jumps with awesome tricks.

Imagine yourself on a green field at the foothills, in the most relaxing and bohemian atmosphere. What could be more fun than playing with your friends like you used to? Archery, volleyball, sand soccer, badminton are just some of the games which will bring you closer to your friends.

Art and outdoor theatre are a real treat. Breath in the theatre experience offered by the 15 artists of Sibiu. Join the improvising, pantomime, painting and drawing workshops or let your imagination fly at the creativity and handmade workshops organized by Magic Hands Studio and Incubator 107 Sibiu.

Are you looking for some super original activities? Perfect! Escape the grown-ups routine and enjoy playing with soap bubbles and fighting your friends with water pistols. Later you could pretend you are your favourite music star in the rock garage or make your memories last in the Photobooth.
