Parent group of Romanian RCS & RDS sees higher revenues
Cable Communications Systems, a holding telecom company registered in the Netherlands and controlled by Romanian investor Zoltan Teszari, reached revenues of EUR 617.4 million in the first nine months of this year, up by 12% compared to the same period of last year. The growth came mainly from the mobile telephony segment.
The group’s operational expenses went up by 8.7%, to EUR 558.6 million, and the operating profit went slightly up, to EUR 58.4 million.
Cable Communications Systems controls RCS & RDS, the biggest cable TV and fixed internet provider in Romania. The group also has operations in Hungary, Italy, and Spain.
RCS &RDS is the group’s biggest company. In the first nine months of this year, RCS & RDS had revenues of EUR 450 million and an operating profit (EBITDA) of EUR 150.8 million. The company had 2.82 million cable TV subscribers and 2.06 million broadband internet clients. It also reached over 3 million mobile service clients.
RCS &RDS is the fourth-biggest telecom group in Romania in terms of revenues, after Orange, Telekom Romania, and Vodafone.
