Peek & Cloppenburg signs with AFI for largest store in Romania

German fashion retailer Peek & Cloppenburg will open its largest store in Romania in the AFI Palace Cotroceni mall, in Western Bucharest.

The store will cover an area of 5,200 sqm. It will be the fourth Peek & Cloppenburg store in Bucharest and the sixth one in Romania. The company also has stores in Timisoara and Constanta.

In 2015, Peek & Cloppenburg recorded a turnover of EUR 37.5 million in Romania and a net profit of EUR 4.2 million.

AFI Cotroceni, which will host the new store, is one of the biggest shopping centers in Bucharest. The mall is currently undergoing expansion work, which will bring it an additional area of 6,800 sqm. The work will be completed this year, and the mall will reach a gross leasable area of 90,000 qm.

The shopping center included new brands last year, such as Fossil, Tally Weijl, and Tezenis. It also opened the largest indoor adventure park in Romania, according to Sorin Scintei, AFI Cotroceni general manager.
