Romanian Senate: People with criminal sentences may run for president
People with a criminal sentence could be allowed to run for president in Romania.
The Senate’s legal committee rejected yesterday a draft project that would have forbidden people with a criminal sentence to run for the presidential seat, reports Digi24. The draft project was submitted by MPs from the opposition.
The Senate’s legal committee rejected the bill with seven senators voting against it and four of them in favor of the draft law. It will be sent to the Senate and to the Chamber of Deputies, which will have the final say.
