Less than a week before the local elections, the Constanta mayor Radu Mazare inaugurated the walkway on the Black Sea in the Mamaia seaside resort. The mayor said he plans to create two more walkways in Mamaia and more still elsewhere on the Romanian seaside.

The walkway starts on the beach in front of the Victoria hotel and extends 420 meters onto the sea. It ends with a landing pier for tourist boats. The value of the investment was of some EUR 900,000, most of which came from the country's Tourism and Development Ministry.
