Ploiesti Racetrack in Romania to be modernized with EUR 15 million
The Ploiesti Racetrack, the only trot race track in the country and the only one that still organizes horse racing, will be modernized with European Union funds, in a one-year project worth EUR 15 million.
The share of the municipality in this project is over 50%, according to local administration officials, cited by local Agerpres.
The project provides the modernization of the trotting race track and the building of a gallop track, construction of seven stables, three parking lots, hangars, administrative buildings, roads and the development of walking and presentation rounds.
The Ploiesti Racetrack was leased by the Ploiesti City Hall to the Italian group Ippodromi & Citta in 2005, but due to the group’s failure to carry out their duties, the racetrack returned to the Ploiesti heritage.
