Romania’s prime minister Ludovic Orban believes students are safer at school than at home without supervision.

The Government is preparing to reopen schools on September 14, when a new school year starts.

A survey carried out by local recruitment platform BestJobs.ro shows that most working parents want their children to go to school once the new school year starts.

"I personally believe - but I have also discussed this with specialists - that the risk of illness for students, from my point of view, is lower at school, where the children are under the supervision of teachers most of the time, than when they leave school, especially when we talk about teenagers who interact without any rules and supervision," the prime minister said, quoted by Hotnews.ro.

Meanwhile, 45% of the working parents who participated in an online survey carried out by local recruiting platform BestJobs.ro, want their children to go to school, while 29% opt for a hybrid system, combining classroom presence and online courses. Only 25% of the respondents want exclusively online schooling for safety reasons.
