Poker legend Daniel Negreanu 'Kid Poker' attends Bucharest tournament

Daniel Negreanu, a famous poker player of Romanian origin, attended a poker tournament which took place in Bucharest on October 31st. Negreanu, nicknamed Kid Poker, is a professional poker player and one of the highest earning players of all times. His total live tournament winnings exceed USD 13 million. His biggest earning at a tournament so far was in 2004, at the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic, when he won USD 1.7 million.

Negreanu is well known in the poker world for being able to read the opponents and call out their hands.

The 36-year old is a Canadian national but currently lives in Las Vegas. He has won four World Series of Poker bracelets and two World Poker Tour Championship titles. He is ranked second in the all-time career earnings list behind Phil Ivey. Negreanu is also currently the star of poker game show Million Dollar Challenge.

Daniel was born in Canada, where his parents settled after leaving Romania in 1967 during the communist ruling. He started playing poker when he was 16 and at 21 he was already heading to Las Vegas. He started to become famous internationally in 1998.

Negreanu made short appearances as a poker player playing against the mutant Gambit in the film X-Men Origins: Wolverine, as well as a poker player in The Grand, and as himself in the film Lucky You. He also appeared briefly in Katy Perry's music video for "Waking Up in Vegas" as a poker player.
