26 February 2019

Austrian group Porr Construct has won the tender for doubling the railway line between the Mogoşoaia and Baloteşti stations (design and execution), which is part of the train link between Bucharest's main train station (Gara de Nord) and the Henri Coanda International Airport in Otopeni.

The contract's value is RON 50.5 million (EUR 10.7 million) plus VAT, Romania’s National Railway Company - CFR announced on Monday.

The project should be completed within 17 months and will get financing from the state budget. Porr was the only bidder for this contract.

CFR also launched, on February 12, 2019, the public tender for the design and execution of a railway segment between Balotesti and the Henri Coanda Airport, which will include a train station at the airport's arrivals terminal and a suspended railway line over the busiest road section in Romania - DN1.
