Energy independence is the best way to fight and prevent vulnerabilities, given the developments eastern of Romania's borders, said President Klaus Iohannis.

Stability is a strong argument for Romania to become a hub of US investments in the region.

Iohannis also said that Romania strongly supports the conclusion of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership.

“A strong transatlantic partnership is especially necessary if we consider the challenges of a global economic market," Iohannis said.

US companies should enter the top 10 foreign investors in Romania, the President added.

Removing barriers to trade in energy is crucial for enhancing energy and energy security of Europe.
