A prisoner who was serving a sentence of 13 years and four months for murder escaped from the Rahova maximum-security prison in Bucharest on Monday evening.

The man, aged 28, was serving his sentence in open regime. He disappeared from the working site, reports local Mediafax.

He has a height of 1.64 m, green eyes, narrow forehead, and dark brown hair. He was wearing jeans and a dark jacket when he escaped. Those who see or have information about him are advised to call the emergency number 112.

The authorities are currently looking for the escaped prisoner. Moreover, an internal investigation has started at the prison.
