Private label brands make 14% of total sales in Romania
Private label brands have a share of 14% within total retail sales in Romania, more than half compared to Germany and three times less than in the UK, according to GfK data.
“In the first half of the year, the share of private labels has increased by one percentage point, to 14%, most of the sales being registered by discounters (40%), followed by hypermarkets (33%). Most of the sales of privately owned brands mainly targeted food products, such as oil, dairy and flour,” said Gabriela Luca, group account manager GfK, cited by local Wall-street.ro.
