Romanians' quality of life got worse this year compared to last year, found a research on the quality of life issued by the Romanian Academy. Romanians saw deteriorating political environment and became less satisfied with the way the country is managed.

The indicators registered in the research study were at similar values to the ones in 1998-1999, which was another period of crisis for Romania. The level of optimism reached the lowest level since 1990, as Romanian fear an increase of prices, more than anything else

The quality of life in Romania is measured based on relatively modest values, like the personal and family life.

The research covered a pool of 1,162 subjects of over 18, between June 25 and July 10 in 78 localities in Romania.
