Romanian telecom group adds two new radio stations to its portfolio
Local telecom operator RCS&RDS became a shareholder in Romanian Music FM and Dance FM radio stations.
The National Audiovisual Council (CNA) approved on Tuesday, July 28, the company’s purchase of a majority stake in Campus Radio SRL, the firm under which the two radio stations are registered. The company’s previous shareholders were local TV station Pro TV and Romanian investor Marius Dobre, who is currently executive director at another local radio station Pro FM, according to Mediafax.
RCS&RDS now owns a 90% stake in Campus Radio SRL, whereas Integrasoft SRL, which is the RCS&RDS sole associate, has a 10% stake.
The telecom operator also bought the Pro FM and Info PRO radio stations from Pro TV earlier this year.
RCS&RDS, which is controlled by local entrepreneur Zoltan Teszari, also owns several TV stations, including the Digi 24 news station, Digi Film movie channel, Digi Sport (1,2, and 3) sports channels, and several science and lifestyle channels.
RCS&RDS last year had EUR 516 million in revenues and over 10,000 employees.
