Real opens Policolor unit today after EUR 22.8 mln investment
Hypermarket operator Real opens its forth store in Bucharest today, following a EUR 22.8 million investment. The new store, which is also Real's 25th in Romania, is located in the Eastern part of Bucharest, on Theodor Pallady boulevard, where it occupies 14,000 sqm within a retail park. Out of this area, 9,700 sqm represents the sales area.
The retailer is trying to focus more on local producers and is planning to increase the number of local, traditional products it sells through its stores, according to Michel Lamoot, general manager of Real Hypermarket Romania. Real Policolor will be opened non-stop.
Real will be accompanied by an OBI Do-it-Yourself unit in the same retail park. The entire park was laid over 15 hectares of land, out of which 6.5 hectares are built area. It will also include a Metro Cash & Carry unit, which will open next week. Both Real and Metro Cash & Carry, which are part of the Metro group, will also relocate their headquarters on the new commercial platform.
With this investment, Real reaches EUR 100 million of investments in Bucharest.
