Refusal rate for US visa applications drops to 9.8% in Romania
The refusal rate for visa applications to the United States of America (USA) for Romanian citizens has dropped below 10% (9.8%) in the 2013-2014 fiscal year, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE), reports local news agency Mediafax.
The Ministry considers that this drop, associated with possible changes in the Visa Waiver access criteria, may lead to the elimination of US visas for Romanian citizens.
There was a downward trend in the refusal rate for visa applications registered between 2010 and 2014. In 2010, the refusal rate was of 24.8%, in 2011, 22.4%, in 2012, 17% and in 2013, 11.5%.
