Renault invests EUR 20 mln in Romania’s IT infrastructure
French group Renault has invested over EUR 20 million in Romania’s IT infrastructure so far, according to the company. Each year, the company invests about EUR 1.5 million in the IT systems.
The group’s units in Romania, in Bucharest, Mioveni, Pitesti, Oarja and Titu, have over 8,500 computers, industrial PCs, and graphic stations. They also include more than 2,000 km of networks, as well as 10,000 fixed and mobile phones.
Renault’s IT infrastructure is managed by the Directorate of Information Systems Renault Romania (DSIRO). This has evolved from a small support and assistance department into an important part of the business, according to Renault. The IT center offers support for all of the group’s local activities, as well as for the group’s customers in 47 external markets in Latin America, Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
This year, Renault announced that it planned to increase the automation degree of the Dacia plant in Mioveni.
