Renault opens local Titu testing center in September

Renault Technologie Roumanie (RTR) will open on September 15 its technical center in Titu, according to Jerome Olive, general manager of Automobile Dacia, quoted by Mediafax newswire.

The first tests will take place in October, after which around half of the testing lines will be developed and finalized next year in summer. The total investment in the Titu testing center is of EUR 100 million, out of which EUR 70 million will be alloted this year. Construction works on the project started in 2008, with a first deadline for completion set for end of 2009. The Titu center will include 100 testing platforms for entire cars and components. It also includes 30 kilometers of track for speed tests and 80,000 sqm of buildings, all on 330 hectares of land, which used to host an air base.
