Renault Technologie Roumanie former head takes helm at Tarom
Romanian Transport Ministry recruited Sorin Buse for the position of deputy general manager of the Romanian state-owned airline Tarom, reports local Ziarul Financiar.
Buse led Renault’s engineering center in Bucharest between October 2010 and April last year. Renault Technologie Roumanie (RTR) is the French group’s second largest engineering center after the one in Paris.
The former Tarom general director Christian Heinzmann was removed from office after an aircraft's engine caught fire in March this year.
Heinzmann had previously announced that he wanted to replace Tarom’s old fleet with new aircraft of a single constructor, such as Boeing or Airbus, and acquire new aircraft for intercontinental flights. The project still hasn’t been approved by the Transport Ministry.
Until the Ministry appoints a general manager, Buse has the powers of a general manager.
In Renault’s engineering center in Bucharest, Buse managed projects such as Logan 2 facelift, which will be launched this fall, the implementation of the automatic transmission Easy-R on Logan and Sandero, and the future Duster 2.
