Renault's sales down 27% in Romania while sales figures go up elsewhere in the world
Renault Group's sales in Romania went down by 27.1 percent in the first quarter of the year, while the local market took a dive of 15 percent, according to the carmaker. The company's total revenues grew by 15 percent during the period, to EUR 10.4 billion. The European market brought a decline in sales of 3.7 percent, while the cars and commercial vehicles market declined by 1 percent on the European continent.
Worldwide, car sales managed to grow by 7.2 percent during the first quarter of this year. Renault's sales outside Europe increased by an unprecedented 26.6 percent. These sales made 37 percent of the group's total sales, up six percentage points compared to one year ago. Renault owns Romanian carmaker Dacia.
