The producers of renewable energy received subsidies of EUR 376 million last year, which was paid by all energy consumers in Romania via the green certificates component of their monthly bills, according to a report published by the Romanian energy authority ANRE, cited by local Agerpres.

The total production of electricity from renewable energy resources was of 22.362 TWh, out of which 6.279 TWh were supported through the scheme of promoting green certificates.

The total installed power capacity at the end of 2013 in renewable energy units was 4,349 MW.

A total of 128 companies had the obligation to acquire green certificates in 2013.
