Retailer Cora ups sales in Romania in 2013, after opening 2 new hypermarkets
French retailer Cora recorded higher sales in Romania in 2013, as the company opened two new hypermarkets last year.
“2013 was a good year, ended with an increase in sales of 13.5 percent compared to 2012, in the context of opening two new stores, one in July and another one in October,” PR officer Ana Maria Florea told local news agency Mediafax.
In July last year, Cora inaugurated a shopping center in Constanta, Romania, following an investment of EUR 51 million, while in October it opened a hypermarket in Ploiesti.
For this year, the retailer has two more projects planned, namely a hypermarket in Bucharest and a shopping center in Brasov.
Cora Romania ended 2012 with total sales of some EUR 360 million, up 6 percent year-on-year.
The retailer runs 12 stores across the country, of which four are located in Bucharest, and the other eight in Ploiesti, Cluj-Napoca, Baia Mare, Arad, Drobeta Turnu Severin, Constanta and Bacau.
