Posta Romana promises higher wages and investments in technology under new strategy

03 May 2022

The new development strategy of the Romanian postal services company Posta Romana promises, besides personnel downsizing, higher wages and more investments in technology, Profit.ro reported.

The document, already endorsed by the Government, provides for the implementation of actions for the company's reorganization by transforming the central office from a control structure to one with a supporting role.

Thus, the national postal service operator aims to simplify the organizational structure by reducing the administrative apparatus that is oversized at the national level (the company employs some 25,000).

Some 300 employees in administrative positions at Posta Romana were supposed to be made redundant starting July 2021, announced Horia Grigorescu (Liberal Party PNL), at that time general manager of the company, in February of the same year.

However, Horia Grigorescu left the company before the 300, in June, and the personnel downsizing plan was put on hold.

Besides downsizing, the new development strategy provides for higher wages. The increase in employees' income will have a fixed component by increasing the minimum wage in three stages (August 2022, January 2023 and August 2023), but also a variable component, by extending the employee bonus system based on performance criteria.
