Roberto Cavalli Bucharest store sells out collection in week following designer's visit

25 April 2013

Fashion designer Roberto Cavalli's visit to Bucharest appears to have acted as a tonic on sales at his mono-brand store in Bucharest's JW Marriott hotel. His Ready to Wear collection has sold out in the week following the Italian fashion designer's visit to the store for a champagne event to officially launch the store, according to local business newspaper Ziarul Financiar.

Representatives of the store told Ziarul Financiar that the shop is set to launch full collections. Following the launch party, the Roberto Cavalli store sold the Spring/Summer 2013 Cruise, Pre-Collection and Ready to Wear collections. Dresses and accessories sold at the store cost between EUR 345 and EUR 5,060.

Fashion designer Roberto Cavalli attended a gala event at his new store in Bucharest’s JW Marriott hotel in person last week. He was joined by Russian model Irina Shayk and 800 guests for the evening.

The luxury fashion brand Roberto Cavalli opened the mono-brand store in Bucharest late last year, in The Grand Avenue fashion galleria of the five-star hotel JW Marriott. The 150 sqm store in Bucharest included 130 different items from the fall-winter 2012/2013 collection.

The store required investments of some EUR 600,000 and joins other famous fashion names in the same galleria, such as Escada, Valentino, Alfred Dunhill, Rolex, Davidoff, Ermanno Scervino, Stefanel, and Louis Vuitton.

Roberto Cavalli is an Italian fashion designer from Florence, who is known for using exotic prints and the sand-blasted jeans. Cavalli’s business, which was founded in 1970, runs stores around the world.
