Romania dropped five positions in the World Talent Ranking this year. The ranking assesses the countries’ capacity to develop, retain and attract talent.

Romania ranks 61 out of 63 countries surveyed by the IMD World Competitiveness Center, according to local financial NGO INACO.

Europe dominates the ranking this year too, with the top five positions being occupied by Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium, Austria and Finland. The last positions in the global ranking are occupied by Ukraine (59), Croatia (60), Romania (61), Mongolia (62) and Venezuela (63).

“Tell me how you treat your human talents to tell you what chances for development you stand,” INACO president Andreea Paul said.

Of the countries in Eastern Europe, Estonia ranks 29th, Lithuania ranks 33rd, and Poland 34th. Hungary ranks 54th and Bulgaria ranks 58th.
