Romania ranks 67th in a top of 84 most appreciated destinations in the world, the ranking being led by Costa Rica, according to The Global Tourism Monitor study conducted by Mercury Research together with Global Market Research Association. The ranking was made based on the tourists’ experiences and the degree to which they would recommend the country to potential visitors.

Costa Rica obtained the highest score- 63, while Romania, at number 67, had a score of 26. In the last 12 months, only 1% of foreigners have seen holiday offers or other promotional material on Romania. On the other hand, the destinations Romanians most often found in tourist operators’ offers are Greece (49%), Turkey (48%) and Bulgaria (36%).
