Romania, Croatia and Lithuania are among the top five destinations favored by British tourists.

The British are increasingly interested in Eastern Europe and Baltic countries, according to a Visa survey carried out by the Forward Thinking agency, reports local Agerpres.

The number of British cardholders who spend their holiday in Romania increased by 80% between 2012 and 2014, whereas the number of those who spend their holiday in Lithuania went up by 61% and those who go to Croatia, by 57%.

British Visa cardholders spent GBP 18.4 million (EUR 25.4 mln) in the summer of 2014, some GBP 8.8 million (EUR 12 mln) of which in Romania, and GBP 6.3 million (EUR 8.6 mln) in Lithuania.
