Romania and Bulgaria cooperate on patients’ access to drugs
Romania’s Government approved yesterday a cooperation agreement with Bulgaria which aims to secure the access to drugs for patients in the two countries.
This agreement provides that patients in Romania will be able to benefit from drugs that are missing in their country, but can be found in Bulgaria, and vice versa.
Romania and Bulgaria may also conclude mutual agreements with producers in order to obtain price discounts. The two countries will decide together upon the drugs that will be included in this procedure.
The common agreements concluded with drugs producers will be applied to those treatments that are not reimbursed from public funds in any of the two countries, as well as to drugs used in treating rare diseases.
