Romania gives EUR 100 mln to the Republic of Moldova
Romania will grant the Republic of Moldova a EUR 100 million non-reimbursable loan. The money will be used for continuing the interconnection programs of the energy transport infrastructure, as well as for expanding the emergency rescue unit SMURD reports local Wall-street.ro.
Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta made the announcement during his visit in Chisinau, where a series of events were organized for marking Moldova’s 24 years of independence. Romania will continue to support Moldova to join the European Union, Ponta said.
Two days ago, the Romanian Government approved the deal between Romania and the Republic of Moldova for the interconnection of the two countries’ gas and electricity networks as well as the non-reimbursable financing.
