Romania exports clothing and accessories worth EUR 2.4 bln
Romania exported clothing and accessories worth EUR 2.41 billion in the first ten months of 2016, up 1.2% over the same period in 2015, according to data from the National Statistics Institute (INS), cited by local Agerpres.
Meanwhile, the imports of clothing and accessories reached EUR 1.13 billion, up 25.7% year-on-year. The trade surplus on this segment thus amounted to EUR 1.27 billion.
According to data from the Economy Ministry, the total value of Romania’s international trade exceeded EUR 103.43 billion in the first ten months of 2016, up 5.3% over the same period in 2015. Exports increased by 4.1% to EUR 43.76 billion whereas imports rose by 6.4% to EUR 55.67 billion.
In these circumstances, Romania's trade deficit increased by 23.2% to EUR 7.9 billion at the end of October last year.
