Romania exported EUR 227.2 million worth of beverages and tobacco in the first four months of 2014, EUR 43.3 million higher than in the same period the previous year, according to data from the National Statistics Institute INS, cited by local Agerpres.

The imports of beverages and tobacco stood at EUR 133 million, with EUR 5.8 million lower than the amounted registered in January-April 2013.

A total of 18,600 people were working in the beverage manufacturing sector at the end of April, while 1,600 were working in the tobacco manufacturing sector.
