Romania gets EU funds for public buildings’ energy efficiency
Romania will get EUR 439 million from the European Fund for Regional Development for improving the energy efficiency of its public buildings in the 2014-2020 period.
Romania alone will decide how it will use this money, said the European Commissioner for Regional Policies Corina Cretu, reports local Agerpres.
She met with Romania’s justice minister Raluca Pruna in Brussels yesterday to talk about the serious problems in Romania’s penitentiary system and the opportunities to rehabilitate public buildings owned by the Justice Ministry.
“A significant sum of EUR 439 million is allotted for the public buildings’ energy efficiency: some EUR 41 million in Bucharest and EUR 398 million in the country’s other regions,” Cretu said.
