Romania gets gold and bronze medals in World Fencing Championship

Romania ended the World Fencing Championships in Catania on the fifth place in the Final Medal Ranking, with one gold medal and two bronze, according to the official site of the competition. Italy ranked first with 11 medals.

Romania’s athletes Anca Maroiu, Ana Maria Branza, Simona Alexandru and Loredana Dinu won the gold medal in the feminine fencing team competition, while Anca Maroiu and Ana Maria Branza also won the bronze medals in the feminine individual competition.

Italy ranked first with 4 gold medals, 3 silver and 4 bronze, while Russia, that ranked second, had a total of 4 gold medals and one bronze. See the entire ranking here.
