Romania grants EUR 144 mln subsidies for diesel to farmers
The state has granted farmers subsidies of about EUR 144 million for this year allowing them to buy cheaper diesel.
The support covers the excise on the diesel used in agriculture, for mechanical work in the vegetable, livestock, and land improvement sectors. The money will be paid from the state budget.
The Agricultural Payment Agency will make a list with the beneficiaries and will send it to the Agriculture Ministry quarterly. The money will be directed in the beneficiaries’ accounts.
The state support scheme for reducing excise on diesel used in agriculture was approved in 2014 via a government decision.
